Meet Pete McLaughlin
Who the hell is Pete McLaughlin?
Pete is a middle-aged dad, a lifelong New Englander, and a comedian who came to stand-up later in life.
Which means he’s already dealing with an aging body, teenage-level technology, children who don’t appreciate everything he’s done for them, and the realization that his younger self made some spectacularly questionable decisions.
So naturally, he decided to put a microphone in front of himself and talk about all of it.
Pete’s comedy is personal without being precious, self-deprecating without being miserable, and relatable because life gets weird when you hit middle age.
He’s performed throughout New England and continues to build a growing catalog of original material designed for clubs, theaters, private events, and comedy shows.
And yes, he’s still cheaper than therapy.

Pete’s material comes from the stuff most people actually deal with:
Getting older.
Your body starts making decisions without consulting you.
Parenting.
You love your kids more than anything in the world.
You also occasionally wonder if there’s a return policy.
Relationships.
Because apparently finding someone who loves you isn’t enough. You also have to figure out how to live with them.
Weight.
Pete spent enough of his life being the fat kid that he’s basically got tenure.
Work.
Because nothing says “I’ve made good choices” like spending your day helping other adults figure out how to download a book.
Life.
Mostly Pete trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
None of it was planned. All of it became material.
